Reaching Out to College Students

Josh and Sarah Dean have been members of RB Community for six years and are actively involved with CRU Campus Ministries in San Diego County. Read on to see how their mission work is impacting students at local colleges and universities.

Our goal is to give every college student and faculty in San Diego County the opportunity to know Christ.

College is such a pivotal time for emerging adults. It's a time when many walk away from their faith. And it's a time when many explore faith for the first time. We believe by reaching the next generation of leaders, we will impact the world tomorrow. As students come to faith or get connected with Christian community, it's our desire to see them grow in their faith and then start ministering to others around them. We want our ministry to be a launching pad for these students. We want them to learn the basics of the faith (how to read your Bible, ministry of the Holy Spirit, how to share your testimony, etc.) and be sent to serve the Lord and bless the local church in whatever profession God calls them.

Our team currently has 12 unique ministries on 7 college campuses in the area. We have ministries at San Diego State University, University of California San Diego, Miramar College, Mesa College, Southwestern College, and even at Universidad Autonoma de Baja California in Tijuana. If you know college students in the area who would be interested in getting plugged in, let us know (especially on community colleges).

Josh also serves as the Conference Director for our annual Winter Conference with nearly 1000 students in attendance from across the West Coast. Sarah has her Masters of Divinity from Fuller Seminary and is applying for a Doctorate in Ministry program set to start next fall. We are so grateful for all the ways our church, RB Community has supported us.

If you know college age students please encourage them to attend our CRU Night of Worship on November 9 at 7:30 in the Sanctuary
