Blessing Others Through Outreach Ministry

As you participate in individual outreach efforts or events you may not realize the impact the RB Community congregation is having within our local communities. But, as you read the following list of ways we have provided for those in need you will see a pattern emerge of a loving and caring church in service to others.

This year 250 backpacks and hundreds of school supplies were collected for students in the Poway, Escondido, and Vista School Districts. On "Undie Sunday" we collected and distributed over 1200 pairs of new underwear and socks for clients served through Interfaith Community Services.

October proved to be a very busy month with seven folks going to Tijuana for a church build day at Mt. Sinani Presbyterian Church where fencing and painting projects were completed. Baja Presbyterian Missions provided the materials and our Heartstrings knitting group donated 75 scarves and 75 knit hats for churches in Baja to give to people in their communities. Operation Christmas Child kicked off in October and 292 shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse were collected by the end of the month. RB Community provided $4500 for the Fight Against Hunger event in Poway and members of our congregation helped package 101,000 meals to be sent to the Bahamas for those rebuilding their lives after Hurricane Dorian.

Carpenter's Fellowship sponsored "Jeans for Vets" on Veteran's Day weekend delivering 23 large collection bags of new and gently used clothing to Veterans Village of San Diego. We partnered with Friends and Family Community Connection and provided 115 Thanksgiving Dinner Bags to seniors, military personnel, and schools in the area. RB Community joined other North County churches in sponsoring a Thanksgiving luncheon for the students and staff of Abraxas High School on November 21st.

Throughout the year, members and friends of RB Community are serving others by volunteering at the ReSale Shop, tutoring students at Solutions for Change, delivering bread and fresh produce to local food distribution centers, and by completing small repair projects at church or for elder folks in the congregation.

Our Military Ministry is sponsoring Angel Tree in December and we invite you to help be the hands and heart of Jesus to children of those serving in the military. It's a blessing for us to be a blessing to others.
